10 Reasons Why Moms Don’t Get Dressed Everyday
Sure, it seems easy enough for those who aren’t mothers.
Get up. Get ready. Start your day.But my oh my, if someone would have told me before I had kids just how much time and energy it would take to do those 3 simple tasks, I wouldn’t have believed them. We all see those mama’s who look put together everyday, or maybe we love to stalk that fashionista mom’s Instagram feed and loathe her for being able to wear heels and lipstick on a daily basis… For all of us who have been there and done that motherhood thing, I know you can relate to these top 10 reasons why mom’s just don’t get dressed everyday.
1. Because you are controlling the chaos.
Let’s be honest. Babies wake up crying and need time to be soothed, fed, and changed. Kids wake up grumpy and looking for their morning milk and yelling because who knows why and you simply don’t have a spare second to even think about your to-do list for the day let alone getting yourself dressed.
2. Because you are about to get dirty anyway.
This is my excuse SO often. Why would I put on something nice when my kid is likely going to spit up all over it?
3. Because who needs more laundry?
“I definitely don’t need to add a few more pieces into my ever growing laundry monster in the corner over there… I can pull of these pj’s for one more day… I think…”
4. Becasue nothing is quite as comfortable as my mom bun and leggings.
Being a mom involves a lot of running around, bending over, picking up kids (and other miscellaneous things). Real clothing just doesn’t always seem like the most practical.
6. Because you are not going to leave the house today anyway.
Staying at home can put some of us into this comfortable cycle of never getting ourselves ready because, why would we waste the energy and cute outfit?
7. Because you just don’t feel up to it.
We are getting real here today. Some day, we are just not feeling ourselves. Especially when our bodies, homes, and lives are constantly revolving around our little ones.
8. Because nothing fits like it used to.
This one hits home. After having kids, nothing fits like it used to and sometimes I just don’t feel as confident in adorable dresses and tight jeans as I used to.
9. Becasue you just don’t care what others think anymore.
I used to feel like I wanted to dress to impress others… But after you have been the victim of a full blown toddler tantrum in the middle of a grocery store, you just don’t care what others think anymore.
10. Becasue it takes time + effort that you just don’t have.
Some days, it simply comes down to this. I just don’t have the energy to put into finding a cute outfit, fixing my hair, or putting on makeup. Simple as that.
Let’s drop those excuses!!
How many of you can relate to one (or all) of those points!? Although we have so many valid reasons as to why it can be difficult to dress up each day, it is actually super important to make yourself a priority! I don’t mean that you need to take an hour each morning (because who has that time?) but I do think that having some beautiful pieces of clothing that are easy to throw on, yet make you feel confident and comfortable are key in a mama’s life!
This is why I am loving Pax Philomena and everything that they carry! Their clothing is drop dead gorgeous. I mean, the prints and color, beading and tassels, EVERYTHING is simply stunning. You know what though? I don’t feel one bit like throwing on their Tunic or Kaftan is a chore! They are stand out pieces, but they are flowy, lightweight, and easy to wear with leggings. Doesn’t this sound like a dream? I also am loving the fact that their pieces can be dressed up or dressed down.
I have been spending time during the day wearing these tops with my boys, and I wasn’t confined by tight or unflattering clothing one bit. I am even going to throw on some heels and wear the Kaftan tongiht for a girls night out! These are the staples that I love having in my closet and I know that you will too!
As a mom, we often let ourselves fall into the trap of believing that we are not as important. I can guarantee that if you find some clothing that fits your body great and that looks beautiful on you, that you will be a much more confident and productive lady for your family!
Because I believe in this so much, I want you to be able to experience a beautiful maxi dress from Pax Philomena for yourself! Be sure to enter the giveaway and one lucky winner will get this STUNNING Sorrento Maxi!
