Living in a small space can have it’s challenges. Add on that the small space has wheels and no permanent address & there are even more things to overcome! Living in our RV has been a blast so far, but since it is our home away from home for the foreseeable future, I wanted to make sure that it received all the charm and the personal touches as our house had. Of course, there isn’t as much wall space and certainly not as much storage space, so making it work has been a game of Tetris. I am absolutely loving the details that we have added & thanks to my friends at MPix, we have made our camper feel more like home.
Living simply. It’s a trend that seems to be on the rise, but more than a minimalistic style trend, living a more simple home life can set you free in so many areas. Creating a house that works for your family but that allows you to have more time, resources, and space for other things you love in life is what it is all about. In fact, many of you know that we recently completely downsized our lives and are now living our dreams by traveling the country full time in our RV. Anyone can do something like this, or achieve the same freedoms from the comfort of their own home, so here is my 4 tips for helping you get there!
Being in a creative business is one of my dreams come true. I have always loved creating and being able to speak my voice and now I get to do that as part of my job – it’s incredible! Something that is challenging when it comes to being in a creative job is that everything rises and falls on your ability to keep making new and engaging content. I get questions all the time about how to combat that feeling of loosing your creative drive so I put together a few ways that help to fuel my creativity in hopes that it inspire you as well!
It’s part way through the year & many of us have either been absolutely killing our resolutions we made back in January or some of us may have long forgotten about those silly things! This spring, I have a whole new idea for how to jumpstart a happier and healthier everyday life & that is by setting a spring cleaning resolution. I have to admit, that with my two kids, jobs, and various obligations I am not the best at keeping up with the household chores & one thing that TOTALLY gets neglected? The floors.
There has been an unbelievable amount of backlash against stay-at-home moms lately. Seems like everytime I am online lately I see an article or a video about how stay-at-home moms have to defend themselevs against those who are still telling them their job is “easy” or “relaxing.” Now, I know I am speaking to the chior here because most of my audience is other mamas, but for anyone who may have stumbled upon my blog because you are looking for a way to judge us, please keep reading…
My kids have grown up as outdoor children – with much thanks to my husband. They have always been happier if they are running around in the sunshine and the grass (or sand!) beneath their feet. I know not everyone has access to a beach or a beautiful playground near their home, but that shouldn’t stop you from getting out and allowing your littles to enjoy the great outdoors! I am sharing with you today some of our favorite ways to spend time in nature & how to get your children to love it too.
Did I just put the word “relaxing” and “toddler” in the same sentence? I have come to the realization that those two opposing forces are not generally in my vocabulary simultaneously, however, I am integrating new ways to make night time just a little easier. I’m not promising this will make them fall asleep any earlier (although a mama can hope!) but I can say the process has become a fun bonding time for me, Ryland, and Landon. Speaking of those boys, they have both suffered from sensitive and dry skin since they were born, but the SoCozy products that we have been using for the past few months are ideal for them!
When I say, I’m not a cook… I mean that. I’m totally guilty of searching on Pinterest for things like, “How to cook for my family when I don’t want to cook?” Anyone else totally with me? I am not very comfortable in the kitchen and going to the grocery store is one of those tasks that (especially with kids) just haunts me throughout the week. I’m all for eating good food. In fact, I’d say I’m pretty good at that! 😉 I am stoked to share with you a service that has made cooking so much easier and even (dare I say it) more fun! This mama needed some help in this department, so I’m sharing 5 reasons why Dinner Thyme is perfect for me!
