Summer is a blast! Summer is one of the times that absolutely everyone is looking forward to all year long, but once it’s here, are we making the best of it? Kids are out of school – but don’t let their cries of boredom stop you all from having the best summer season yet! I want to share with you some ways to make the best of each day that you can as a family this year. This summer is bound to be memorable & super sweet! Are you with me?
We all know how much kids require for a day out. Now throw in the unexpectedness and the excitement of Disney and there is no telling what you will need! Since we have had our kids we have been to the Disney parks at least a dozen times, so I have had some experience on what works, what you need, why you need it, and what kind of bag will be the best choice. Looking for any of those tips? I’m excited to share them with you!
Everything Disney does is EPIC. There is simply no other word for the beauty and caredully meticulous design elemtents and state of the art technology that goes into everything they produce. Going to the Disney World parks is one of our family’s favorite activities ever! We head there for almost every special occassion from birthdays, to Valentine’s Day, and anniversaries. Some of my best memories over the past 5 years as a family have been spent here & I am thrilled to show you a new series of incredible memories we just made at the brand new Pandora – World of AVATAR at Animal Kingdom!
A day at the zoo is a day I’m in for! We love visiting local zoos as we travel and letting the kids explore each unfamiliar place with some friendly familiar animal friends. The boys seem to never get tired of watching the elephants play or the tigers roam, and I never get tired of watching their boundless energy run through the park. We were really excited to get to go to the Audubon Zoo in New Orleans last week – since we had heard such amazing reviews! It certainly did not disappoint!
There is something so instinctively magical about the summertime. I think deep down, all of us get a little giddy when we know it’s on its way, & I am definitely no exception. There is an amped up joy and a desire to get all your family and friends together to enjoy the sunshine. I have always been one for getting out and truly soaking in the season & this year will be absolutely no different! We will be traveling all summer – a new state every month – but I have a sure way to make friends wherever we go, & I am certain that there will be tons of new faces and yummy BBQ’s in our future!
Hours and hours in the car? It can seem overwhelming, but I can promise you that with some of the tips I have gathered in our travels lately – from first hand experience with two toddlers – you can definitely take that trip you have been dying to go on! I am a firm believer that there is a way to do what you want. Make it happen! It may take extra planning or sacrifices on one end or another, but I am certain that the itch you have to travel can become your reality. Here are some of my top tips for road trips with your family!
Living in a small space can have it’s challenges. Add on that the small space has wheels and no permanent address & there are even more things to overcome! Living in our RV has been a blast so far, but since it is our home away from home for the foreseeable future, I wanted to make sure that it received all the charm and the personal touches as our house had. Of course, there isn’t as much wall space and certainly not as much storage space, so making it work has been a game of Tetris. I am absolutely loving the details that we have added & thanks to my friends at MPix, we have made our camper feel more like home.
Bringing kids to the zoo is always a good choice. There is something so magical about being transported from everyday life into the mystical jungle filled with beasts you don’t often get to see up close and personal. Ryland & Landon are such nature lovers and so getting them in front of some beautiful animals just makes their joy levels go through the roof. We had such a blast today as we explored the Alabama Gulf Coast Zoo in Gulf Shores! Their tagline is “The Little Zoo That Could” and I swear, once you go there, you will see exactly why!
