Creating A Comfortable Place For Holiday Guests

You may be able to shut the doors to your bedroom and make sure that no one heads toward the laundry room – but when hosting holiday parties this year there is no way to escape them seeing your bathroom! It can be intimidating having people over to your home, especially when you’ve had so much to do leading up to this season, but small details can go a long way! When it comes to visitors in your home, I’m sharing a few ways to make your guest bathroom welcoming and comfortable, so neither you or your party guest have to feel embarrassed!

There is a reason that fancy restaurants put a lot of effort into their restrooms. This is a place where people should be able to take a minute for themselves and to freshen up – so making it comfortable and inviting is key! I promise if you implement some of these easy and stress-free ideas into your powder room, you’ll be hostess of the year! I went to Target (surprise, surprise) and got everything I needed to spruce up the space – including my favorite toilet paper that is the only one acceptable to leave out for your guests. They need quality & that’s exactly what you will get with Quilted Northern Ultra Soft & Strong® Mega Rolls!

My first tip is to add décor! The holidays make everyone a little more joyful – and I’m sure your home is adorned with beautiful lights and trees – so let’s bring some of that spirit into the bathroom as well! I have added a few pieces to mine that make the seasonal exchange of decorations easy and fun. I love garlands because there is always somewhere to hang them in your bathroom, whether it be over the mirror, on a towel rack, or above the door. This christmas tree one was just way too cute! I also have a hook for hanging signs that I also change out throughout the seasons so it’s an easy place to bring in a “Noel” wooden piece.

Next, adding scents into the bathroom is ALWAYS a good idea! I have some winter fir and peppermint candles that I’ll be lighting when company is over to make the room smell festive, but also to hide any unwanted scents as the night goes on. You can also leave an air freshener available on the counter for those who wish to spray before or after they enter the restroom.

Let’s be completely blunt for a minute. No one wants to have to go to the restroom with the thought that others can hear them. Am I right? We may not like to admit it, but everyone of us has been a guest at one point in a home that was just a little too quiet for us to feel comfortable. When guests come to your house for your holiday party this year, it would be awesome to have some light holiday music playing in your guest bath. Nothing crazy, but the tunes will make all the difference!

Last but CERTAINLY not least is making sure that you are stocked up on the essentials – and in the case of the bathroom, that means toilet paper! I grabbed some Quilted Northern Ultra Soft & Strong® Mega Rolls while shopping at Target and used the Cartwheel Offer that gave me 10% off. Grab the deal and claim it through the 31st of December! Using Quilted Northern is a no-brainer, mostly because they last longer, which means holiday guests won’t have that awkward moment of having to change the roll. I love keeping a stash just in case, but the fact is that it truly lasts much longer because they are actually 4 rolls in one – and that is a plus for anyone, hostess or not!

    I just LOVE the music idea. I had never thought of that but it would certainly set the mood and block out sounds. 🙂 Very cute and festive decor. {client}
