EAT: LuLu’s Gulf Shores, Alabama
We DID it. We made it to Gulf Shores, Alabama & we are so happy that this is the first stop on our journey! The town is absolute perfection. We are right along the coast of the Gulf of Mexico (and are joking a lot that it looks like home!) But the beaches are stunning, the weather is just right, and the people could not be sweeter. Southern hospitality at it’s finest around here. Speaking of impeccable hospitality, we had the treat of dining out at LuLu’s Gulf Shores for lunch & cannot wait to share it with you!
As we pulled up to LuLu’s, you can tell this is the spot to be in Gulf Shores. The place is massive & instantly you are taken into a beachy paradise! We were seated right by the water, where boats were regularly floating on by (which Ryland absolutely loved!) Their menu was expansive, but one of the best parts was that their fish is caught right around the area and is never frozen. This makes for some delicious fish & Heath was a huge fan of their Snapper Sandwich that he ordered. With the cool breeze and the friendly service, we sat and relaxed. I ended up ordering the chicken tacos which were also phenomenal. We ended with their Key Lime Pie and I think Heath & I both looked at each other multiple times while (quickly) consuming it & said, “oh this is sooo good.” It didn’t last long, that’s for sure!
Here’s a side note for you… Anyone reading this who is not from the south, you don’t know sweet tea until you’ve had it from Alabama, that’s for sure! Florida sweet tea had nothing on this cup of deliciousness!
For a restaurant to become one of our favorites, it’s got to have a few things.
Great (& understanding of our kids) service.
I can honestly say that LuLu’s had it all for us. We loved being waited on by Shelby & hearing about her love of this beach town. Once we finished up inside, there was so much more to see outside. From a gift shop & arcade station to the expansive outdoor play area, LuLu’s has something for everyone.
Of course, Ryland being the beach kid he is, jumped right into the sand and started playing with the sand toys that they provided. How great that a restaurant fuels the activity of the kids while the parents can sit back and relax while enjoying a drink by the water. Not only leisurely activities, but adventurous ones as well! They even have rope courses – large and small! You could make a whole day out of your visit to LuLu’s Gulf Shores!
