How To Have A Productive Mom Break
If you are like me, nap times are the only mom breaks that happen during the day & the amount of STUFF I have to cram into 2 hours (if I’m lucky!) is crazy. I have realized that when I look at nap time as a time for me to do alllll the boring things, I tend not to be as productive. Instead, I’ve changed my mindset. Nap time is ME time & I am going to maximize the potential of those few hours to be as productive as possible, while still treating myself to a well-deserved MOM BREAK.

There are things to be done, but that doesn’t mean that I have to be BORED out of my mind while doing them. Here are a few ways that I have learned to be productive and get my to-do list done while my kids nap, all while feeling like I’m still taking a break!
Finish your hardest or least favorite chore first!
Trussssst me. I know that the minute you lay your kids down for that coveted nap the last thing on your mind is mopping the floors, or prepping for dinner, but if you can get these things done THE SECOND you walk out of your kid’s room, the more time you have to get other (fun) things done during that time. It takes practice, but I swear you will thank me for it later.
Play your favorite music or tv show in the background.
It’s been a long time since I watched a show without a cartoon animal. I often think about the days when I could turn on that afternoon talk show or music that isn’t geared toward preschoolers. Well, even though I usually have to keep it pretty low to not wake the boys, I use nap time to get some of that entertainment in for the day. Listening to music or having something fun on in the background of my laundry and dishwasher duties makes it feel like much more of a mom break and like I was able to do something that was just for me.
Treat yourself to something that gives you a boost as you complete your tasks.
My kids steal ALL my food and drinks. Literally, even while I’m taking my morning vitamins I am not safe from their jealous cries.
