Faithfully Beautiful

My #MothersPromise

Since the moment I found out I was gonna be a momma, I knew that I wanted to be there for my kids. I made a promise that very night that the test said positive that I would do my best to be present and active in my kid’s lives. As a preschool teacher at the time, I had experiences with lots of different kinds of parents. It was easy at that time to nitpick their flaws and applaud their successes from the outside, but little did I know how hard (and extremely rewarding!) parenting could really be.

One thing I took away from that time in my life was that being active in my kids everyday lives was something I was passionate about. I wanted to know my babies and I wanted them to know me. This doesn’t just mean staying home with them or taking them special places. I honestly just want to genuinely BE there.

In the times when I’m cooking, cleaning, and balancing work but they have some hilarious story to share…

During the times when all I want is for them to finally fall asleep, but they choose to snuggle me on the couch instead…

When I feel like we have played the same game over and over and over but my boys cannot get enough…

These are the times when it matters most. These are the moments that as mothers we can easily overlook and pass up as time wasted and instead of living in the moment, we are counting the piles of laundry behind the laughing children. My #MothersPromise is to be PRESENT and to show my boys that their mama was there for them, in the good, the bad, the ugly, the smelly, and the hilariously awesome.

I have decided to keep a journal for my kids. Not a baby book of cliche moments, but a genuine journal of details. Notes and memories of their everyday lives . The time they woke up with a silly dream to share or the time that we spent hours blowing bubbles and laughing our heads off in the backyard. The small moments that I am learning more and more each and every day, aren’t small at all. I’m hoping that when they are older, I can give them this as a gift & they will see all the times that we just got to BE together.

As someone who journals and writes quite often, I know that this is a practical, fun, and inspirational way for me personally to give back my promise to my kiddos.

One of the ways that I am giving the best to my kids is with the help of Pampers & their new line of diapers, the Premium Care Diapers, available at Walmart & Walmart.com. I honestly cannot rave enough about these. Having kids with very sensitive skin, I am very aware of the products that we use on their little bodies. Pampers Premium Care Diapers are top tier and extremely high quality! They are honestly the softest diapers I have ever touched! They are hypoallergenic, and have the handy wetness indicator with a unique absorb away liner, a breathable inside & out, and extra absorb channels! This makes for one particularly awesome nappy.

Thank you Nicole! I completely forgot to keep up with Ryland’s baby book! 🙁 This is much more fun to me & plus I don’t have to feel obligated to stick to a specific schedule.
