6 Things Every Mom Needs To Pack For Vacation

One of the most important tasks that parents have to complete before a vacation is packing everybody’s suitcase. Of course, this is a task that can be particularly challenging, not least because you need to strike a balance between having everything you need, but also not going over your weight allowance. The good news is you can find out which items to always include in your packing below. Keep reading to discover what they are.

Sunscreen

Whether you are heading out into a national park for a camping trip or hitting the beach to swim and build sandcastles, packing the right level of sunscreen for your child is a crucial part of any vacation.

The thing is that many people forget just how much sunscreen their whole family will use throughout a week’s vacation. Oh, and buying while you are there can be very expensive, not to mention that you might not be able to get the specific brand and type that your family needs.

With that in mind, stocking up, and packing plenty in your luggage is the best approach. Be sure to look for high SPF such as 50 for young children and toddlers, as well as those with very fair skin. You can even get sunscreen that is tinted in fun colors like pink and green, that not only will encourage your kids to use it but helps you to see where it’s applied, and whether you have missed a spot!

Insurance documents for the whole family

No matter if you are staying in the states, or heading overseas, making sure that you have all the proper insurance documentation for every member of your family is crucial. Indeed, it can make the difference between being able to access the very best emergency care or not.

Of course, no one likes to think of their child getting injured or sick while on vacation, but these things can strike at any time. You can, however, make sure your child gets the medical care they need with the minimum amount of stress by making sure that all their insurance cards are up to date, and that you carry them with you at all times.

Your electronic device chargers

Unless you are going for a screen-free vacation, making sure you pack additional chargers for phones, tablets, and handheld game consoles is crucial. Indeed, these devices can help keep your kids entertained while you are travelling and once you arrive, something that means you get some time to relax without having to be on-call!

Additionally, staying in contact with each other if you take the kids off to do different things is much easier if you and your partner have your cell phones and they are fully charged.

Just remember to pack your chargers in your carry-on luggage, so you have them with you all the time. Also, include not only plug chargers, but ones that can be used in the car, or via a USB port as well, as this will ensure that no matter how you travel you can keep your devices at full power.

Some going out clothes and makeup

Just because you have the kids with you doesn’t mean that you and your other half can’t get dressed up one night, and go for a fancy dinner. You could go for an early sitting and take the kids with you, making sure they have some activities to keep them entertained. Your hotel might even provide background-checked child care so you could have a little me-time!

Of course, you won’t want to take up too much room in your luggage with these items, so it’s best to opt for clothing that is lightweight and can be rolled into your suitcase. Some of my favorite quality pieces that always make me look & feel good are the beautiful classy clothing from Oxford Shop. Whenever I pack these items, I feel put together, ready for anything, and definitely up for some pictures! Your clothing should enhance your trip.

When it comes to make-up, you’ll already have the lovely holiday glow so treating yourself to some classics like the Mac matte velvet teddy lipstick, or the KVD tattoo liner that you can find here is the best idea. After all, they will take up barely any room, and help you feel your very best self all vacation.

Double up on swimwear

If your family is like mine and loves the water then you will want to make sure you have enough swimwear to last the trip. As a rule of thumb, it’s best to take at least two sets of swimwear per person, as they can wear one, while the other is drying.

Be sure to check with your accommodation as to whether they provide towels, shower gel, and moisturizer as well. If not, taking some of your own can help keep the whole family happy and comfortable throughout your trip.
