Tips For Homeschooling Little Ones Of Different Ages

This post has been sponsored by Priddy Books – however all opinions are 100% my own.

Homeschooling multiples can be as challenging as it sounds – but it doesn’t HAVE to be that way! One of the most common struggles I think for all mamas is balancing teaching all of your kids – or at least keeping them entertained while you teach the other ones – and navigating how to properly do that! This is our second year of homeschooling and I have a 6 year old, a 4 year old, and a 1 year old – which means I’ve got to keep everyone at least semi-quiet and engaged so we can have a productive time of learning. I understand the struggle and not every day is perfect, but I do have a tip that has been helping me and my family flourish and inspiring each child to feel involved!

Here are my TIPS FOR HOMESCHOOLING LITTLE ONES OF DIFFERENT AGES:

1. No matter how young your kids are, they can help assist their younger siblings.

As a family unit, we can all have a part and I love getting to include my older boys in helping teach and play with their youngest brother. This doesn’t have to be intense – just simple tasks, like helping him color, play blocks, or reading to him can be a huge help for me and allows every child to have a role in our school day!

One way that I am encouraging that sibling time is by introducing great BOOKS into our day. We absolutely love the Priddy Books because they are bright and colorful and interactive and fun. BONUS – my 6 year old is learning to read all these words and can sit and read them to his 1 year old brother. Not only is it helping to sharpen my 1st graders reading skills, but it is also getting his little bro involved and excited about reading and learning as well.

2. Realize that YOU don’t have to do it all.

As moms, we sometimes feel the burden of every member of our family. The truth of the matter is that as a unit it is beneficial for every person to feel like they have responsibility. I have personally watched my 4 year old grow to LOVE math now that he feels like he can help teach numbers to his little brother. His love for learning has grown with his love for teaching and to me – that is a victory in homeschool life!

3. Invest in resources that will help your whole family thrive.

The possibilities are endless when it comes to resources available and products on the market for homeschooling and beyond. I try to keep our setup simple and finding books – like the ones from Priddy Books – really are great for everyone of my littles. They engage and encourage my 1 year old with his first words, colors, and numbers and excite his little imagination but even further it has helped my older boys learn to read and write these starting words! I love getting to see their bond as they all gather on their bed and reach and play with one another.

These are the types of books that you will keep around for all of your children! #momsmeet #priddybooks
