Compass Hotel by Margaritaville in Anna Maria Sound
The greater Tampa Bay area is so magical – there are endless places to come and visit, to enjoy a staycation, and explore spots you’ve never been to before. Even though I am from Sarasota & now live in St Petersburg, I have not personally spent a lot of time on Anna Maria Island (which is right near Bradenton Beach) but I am so glad that we did take the trip down there! I have always heard how beautiful, luxurious, and relaxed it is on Anna Maria Island, but I was truly taken aback at the experience. We had one of the best staycations we have had in quite a while staying at The Compass Hotel by Margaritaville in Anna Maria Sound.
When I say that every single part of this hotel was meticulous, I am not exaggerating. We loved every second of our stay there. First off, the staff was incredible! They were friendly, and helpful, and so generous and fun with our kids. One of my biggest questions when we travel is if the spot is family and kid friendly, and overwhelmingly YES! When traveling in beautiful and luxurious spots, it can be hard to know if they are good with kids, but Compass was beyond amazing with our kiddos. They chatted with them, brought them little goodies, and shared lots of great information and tips with us about what to do in the surrounding area. I loved that they were so accommodating of our large family.
Speaking of being a large family, we loved the fact that our room was huge and so spacious. We had a gorgeous view of the marina and the water, which we spent our mornings and nights admiring from the balcony, and a room that gave us all the space we needed for the 6 of us. This particular room is the King Suite – meaning we had a King bedroom and bathroom and then an additional room with a Queen pullout couch.
When traveling in Florida one of our favorite things is always the POOL experience. My kids love spending countless hours at the pool and the Compass outdoor area did not disappoint. We spent one entire day out there, watching the boats, eating some yummy food from their bar and grill, and watching the boys be little fish for the day. These are the types of memories that I never want to forget and make bringing our kids with us on trips so special.
Compass is a spot that we have now decided is going to be a common spot for our family. We want to make a habit of exploring Anna Maria Island even more and giving ya’ll more recommendations of what to do around there! If you are searching for a relaxing and tropical family friendly hotel, then this is definitely the spot for you too!
