Stay: Home2 Suites Near Universal Orlando

Staycations are one of my love languages. There is something so special about jumping in the car for just an hour or two and being to a whole new destination for a family getaway. We like to do this often & one of our favorite places to spend a few days is Orlando. There is so much to do for families that you will never get bored! This specific time we stayed at Home2 Suites near Universal and it was such a great option for large families like ours. Not only was it just minutes from the gates of Universal Studios, it was right within a popular district for eating & shopping and close to the other Orlando area theme parks as well.

Every time we are choosing a place to stay, I have to consider how 6 of us will fit in one room. This isn’t always the easiest, but that is why I have always been a huge fan of Home2 Suites! Their rooms are made for space and ease when traveling and it’s perfectly ideal for your whole family. The rooms are big & ours had 2 queen beds and a pull out couch, so enough space for us all, without feeling cramped. You can tell from the photos – this room had floor space and head space for days! We never felt too crowded which really helps when needing a relaxing vacation.

The room and the proximity to the parks is so great, but there are other perks about Home2 Suites that we love. For one, the breakfast bar is wonderful. Free breakfast is such a lifesaver when having kids on vacation. The ability to get up and go downstairs in our PJ’s and eat something before we have to get ready for the day is a huge win for me (and I get my coffee!) This location had Mickey waffles as well which was a hit!

We also spent some time in their pool in the evening and all the kids were really excited about that. I personally love that although the individual rooms are large, the entire hotel is not too big and overwhelming so we could easily get around and getting to our room & car was a breeze.

Of course since we were so close, we needed to check out Universal and Islands of Adventure for the day as well. There is a free shuttle bus that can take you right to the park entrance which can save you a ton of time and money on parking. Plus, then you have a quick ride back home when you’re done in the evening. If you decide to go to the parks as well, you can pick up tickets at the ticket counter in the lobby. Being a Universal Partner Hotel has many perks!

This was the perfect spot for us to take a few days together as a family & I know that your whole family or group will love your experience at Home2 Suites as well. Every single person we came in contact with was kind and friendly and you cannot beat the fact that each room has it’s own kitchenette – with a fridge, freezer, microwave, sink, and plates/utensils. This setup works wonderfully for large families and small children who need to room with you without sacrificing comfort or space.
