Why We Keep Coming Back To Stay At Star Island Resort
There is nothing that gets me more excited than a family trip to plan & enjoy! It’s absolutely no secret how much we love the Orlando area & spending time making memories there as a family. We come to Walt Disney World often, and lately have even been attending some work conferences in the area, so finding a great place to stay that is a perfect distance to all the events, as well as fun for the kids, has been important. We have stayed & played at Star Island Resort before & we were eager to come back again. With so many resort and hotel options nearby, why have we decided to keep coming back to Star Island? I’ll share a few reasons why!
THE ROOMS
With a growing family, it has become increasingly important to have enough space – especially when staying for a week. Star Island has villa style rooms, so really instead of a hotel room, it is more like staying in a vacation condo. This means that not only do we have ample room for the 5 of us – but there are amenities that you don’t get just anywhere. My favorite thing is having a full kitchen during our stay! With the little kids, it just is not fun to have to go out to eat for every meal. Getting the option to bring groceries and cook our own breakfasts & dinners have made the trip all the more relaxing. We truly felt like we could kick back & relax and not have to keep running out for food. It also helps to save a ton of money on your vacation!
Another great perk to these large villas is that there is separation of space. It’s great to be able to put the kids in their room for bed, but still be able to spend time in the living room or dining area with the adults. It’s a special kind of vibe that you don’t have in a small one-room hotel space. This was especially nice with the baby! When he was sleeping, we could put him in one of the bedrooms and shut the door while everyone is still having a good time – but not disrupting him. It’s hard to think about staying anywhere else when this has become our new normal.
THE POOL
Every Florida vacation needs some serious pool time! We were blown away with the pool the first time we came. It’s expansive – with a zero entry and shallow end for the little ones as well as a splash pad. There are fun water features throughout that give you total resort vibes and add some fun! The seating is another plus at Star Island. Even on the busy weekends, there is plenty of seating – lounge chairs and tables – to be found. We have never had to wait for seats or pray for a shady spot. It’s easy to find – which is amazing. Star Island is also great at interaction around the pool area. There is always fun music playing in the background, crafts to join in on, and even games and competitions for the kids – like hula hoop contests!
You never want to book a resort & be disappointed – but I know that your whole family will love the pool here & trust me, you won’t want to leave! Even in the Florida summers, the hot tub is a great treat! We try and go and spend some time in the hot tub before bed to unwind. It’s a great addition to the property.
THE LOCATION
One thing that I get asked a lot when people are coming to Orlando or Disney World for the first time is, “how do we know where to stay!?” I get it, the options are overwhelming & with all the different addresses, how do you know where is a good location? I love this spot in Kissimmee! Star Island is on a full road – with all the restaurants and shops you could need during your stay. It is only a few minutes down the street from Celebration & only 4 miles from Disney World! Anywhere we planned on going was within 15 minutes – from Disney Springs to the Orlando Convention Center. Overall, this resort is the perfect central spot that gives you options on where you want to go and what you want to see!
